H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia and Mr. David Narmania, Mayor of Tbilisi met with diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia.

Senior representatives of the national and local authorities briefed the diplomats on the damage and losses incurred as a result of a devastating natural disaster hitting the capital city of the country on June 13-14, 2015. Information on the current emergency response and infrastructure rehabilitation works was also shared.

Discussion related to specific financial and technical assistance needed in the country, inter alia involving expertise and reconstruction works.

As noted at the meeting, Ministry of Finance will coordinate with various government agencies to prepare a common document for the diplomatic missions. It will elaborate the detailed information on specific support and assistance areas solicited from embassies to match the country's needs with financial and technical response along the current priorities of the authorities.

Ministry of Finance held a similar meeting yesterday with international organizations, donor agencies and IFIs present in Georgia.
