H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia met with banking sector representatives on July 30, 2015. Minister presented them with major macroeconomic indicators, results of state budget execution in the past 6 months of the year and economic growth parameters in January-June, 2015.
Discussions were held at the meeting on the development prospects of the securities market and namely on treasury liabilities and issuance of treasury bills.
As noted in the position of the Ministry of Finance, development of the securities market in the country is important and among priorities of Georgia for a long-run, along with the engagement of the banking sector in the area concerned.
As agreed, Ministry of Finance and commercial banks will continue work, active communication and cooperation on the referred topic.
Meeting held at the Ministry of Finance was also attended by Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) and Chairman of the Banking Association of Georgia (BAG).
