MINISTER OF FINANCE MEETS OUTGOING AND INCUMBENT IMF RESIDENT REPRESENTATIVES



H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia met with Mr. François Painchaud, newly appointed Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Georgia, who commenced his term in the country from July of the current year. Meeting was also attended by Mr. Azim Sadikov, former Resident Representative of the IMF in Georgia.

As noted at the meeting, IMF is a significant partner of Georgia. Minister of Finance congratulated Mr. Painchaud with his appointment and expressed hopes that close relations will be continued between the new Resident Representative of the Fund and his team.

Minister of Finance also thanked Mr. Sadikov for his dedicated work in Georgia over the past 4 years.
Parties discussed issues related to the performance of the IMF in Georgia, progress of the current program and prospects of future cooperation.

Mr. Painchaud, Incumbent Resident Representative of the IMF is an economist with a solid background. He obtained his degree education at l’Université Laval (Canada) and has worked at the IMF since 2009.
