H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia met with Ms. Eva Vit, Director of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Department of KfW together with Mr. Claus Faigel, new Director of the Regional Office of KfW, who will replace Mr. Lars Oerman, current Director of the Regional Office of KfW from early August, 2016.
Minister of Finance once again expressed his sadness for the death of civilians as a result of an attack in Munich and expressed his condolences to the Government and people of Germany.
Parties discussed the performance of projects supported by KfW in Georgia, along with the future plans of cooperation.
Minister of Finance wished Mr. Claus Faigel a great success during his term in Georgia and expressed hopes that partnership will further continue with the new Regional Director and team of KfW. Minister of Finance also thanked Mr. Lars Oerman for his work and collaboration in Georgia.
Projects are currently implemented with financial support of the Federal Republic of Germany in such priority areas, as energy, urban and municipal infrastructure, development of protected areas, and improvement of living standards of the internally displaced people (IDPs).
KfW is carrying out development projects in Georgia through concessional loans and grant financing with the mandate of the Germany authorities.
