KEYNOTE EVENT OF OECD TO BE HELD IN TBILISI



Annual Plenary Session of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes at the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will be held in Tbilisi on November 1-3, 2016.

Government Commission has been established on the grounds of a Decree issued by the Government of Georgia to ensure the superior quality planning and hosting of the event. It is chaired by H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia, while the Ministry of Finance is kept responsible for logistics and organization.

First meeting of the referred Government Commission was held today at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. It was attended by officials of the respective structural units of the engaged government agencies. Details of the preparation process for the event were discussed and specific instructions were distributed among the involved public institutions.

Secretariat of the Global Forum is also actively engaged in the process. Its management is scheduled to visit the capital city of Georgia in late August 2016 to get personally exposed to the preparation works.

Almost three hundred delegates from member states of the Global Forum and officials of ten international organizations will take part in the Plenary Session in November of 2016. It is a keynote policy event of international magnitude to be hosted by Tbilisi, Georgia.

Previous Annual Plenary Session of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes at OECD was held in Barbados in 2015. Over years the event has been hosted by Johannesburg, Paris, Mexico City, Berlin and Jakarta.
