H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia met with Mr. Tao Zhang, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington D.C.
Parties discussed current and future cooperation between Georgia and IMF.
Minister of Finance spoke about current political and economic developments in the country, along with the past and pending reforms of the Government of Georgia (GOG). Mr. Zhang reiterated that IMF is committed to support Georgia in combating its challenges and in implementing the new reform initiatives.
It is worth noting that Minister of Finance is the first Minister meeting the newly appointed Deputy Managing Director of the IMF in this capacity.
From the Georgian side meeting was attended by Mr. David Lezhava, Deputy Minister of Finance; Mr. Nicholas Gagua, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development and Mr. Giorgi Tsikolia, Envoy of the Georgian Embassy to USA.
