MINISTER OF FINANCE MEETS VICE PRESIDENT OF EIB



H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia met with Mr. Laszlo Baranyay, Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) to discuss the cooperation between Georgia and EIB.

Parties discussed the economic policies of the Government of Georgia (GOG) and continued support package of EIB towards the country. Discussion was focused on the significance of projects financed by EIB in the public and private sectors of Georgia.

Minister of Finance of Georgia thanked the Vice President of EIB for his support to the country and expressed hopes for fruitful cooperation deepening in future.
EIB is currently financing projects for the improved road network, water supply and energy, as well as for the development of small and medium enterprises (SME).
It is important to note that EIB is actively getting engaged in developing the innovations and technologies in Georgia. Today, Vice President of EIB participated in a conference launching a joint program of EU and EIB labeled as InnovFin – EU Finance for Innovators held at the Innovations and Technology Agency of Georgia. Financing tools becoming accessible for the development of innovative business in Georgia through the referred program have been discussed at the event.
Shared initiative of the European Union and European Investment Bank in support of research and innovations aims to provide diverse financial solution tailored to the individual needs of small, medium and large enterprises, as well as research institutions engaged in the technology transfer and innovations.
