Fiscal Governance in Georgia and the EU Best Practice



Following Fiscal Rules and Principles of Fiscal Governance are part of PFM best practice which has been implemented and modified for decades in EU. For the past decade Georgia has undergone through serious reforms in PFM in order to share the international best practice in this field. Ministry of Finance of Georgia has prepared a document which describes Fiscal Governance of Georgia and its compatibility with EU best practice: http://mof.ge/images/File/biujeti/Fiscal_Governance-EN.pdf.

In order to increase awareness about the existing fiscal rules and plans to further improve the fiscal governance of Georgia it is important to meet public discussion with the different Stakeholders from central as well as local governments and CSOs.

Ministry of Finance is planning to hold a series of meetings from January 16, 2017 in Tbilisi and regions.

Meetings are open for CSOs and representatives of Municipalities.
