Ministers of Finance and Economy Meet Matteo Patrone, Managing Director of EBRD for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus



H.E. Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia and H.E. Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia met Matteo Patrone, Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus and Catarina Bjorlin Hansen, Regional Director of EBRD for the Caucasus.

Meeting held at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia today was focused on the projects supported by EBRD in Georgia in the following areas: modernization of energy sector, municipal infrastructure, support of the private sector, facilitated regional and global integration of Georgia.
Ministers shared information with Managing and Regional Directors of EBRD on the current performance of the economy in Georgia, and the reform agenda of the Government of Georgia. Dignitaries also paid attention to the topics of future cooperation.

Preparedness was expressed at the meeting for advancing the productive cooperation between Georgia and EBRD, especially in the post-pandemic phase.

Georgia joined the EBRD in 1992. It is now one of the largest investors in the country with over 4 billion Euros allocated through 250 projects, out of which 87 are implemented in the private sector of the country.
