Government Negotiations on Development Cooperation Get Launched Between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany in Tbilisi



Government negotiations between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany are due to resume in Tbilisi on November 4-5, 2021.
Future plans for development cooperation and partnership will be discussed by the officials of two countries in the following directions: education, support of the private sector enabling, energy efficiency, sustainable urban development and other. 

From the German side, government negotiations will engage the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia and Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau, (KfW) and Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). 

From the Georgian side, government negotiations will engage the Ministry of Finance (MOF), Ministry of Education and Science (MES), Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture (MEPA), Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development (MESD), Ministry of Justice (MOJ), Ministry of IDPs from Occupied Territories of Georgia, Labor, Health and Social Security (MOH), Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure (MRDI), Parliament of Georgia, State Audit Office (SAO), Government Administration of Georgia, Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Municipalities of Batumi and Tbilisi.

Signing of a number of agreements and treaties is intended within the scope of the launching negotiations.
It is worth noting that Government Consultations/Negotiations on Development Cooperation is held once every two years by and between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany.

This time, COVID regulations will be fully adhered to, due to the current pandemic.
