H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia met with the Executive and Alternative Directors (EDs and ADs) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on their official visit to Georgia on June 14, 2016.

Parties discussed the projects financed by the ADB, performance under current programs and new venues of cooperation.

“Delegation of Executive Directors of the Asian Development Bank is visiting Georgia. It includes ED for the Australian Constituency, who covers Georgia in the Board of ADB. EDs from the People’s Republic of China and an Acting ED for USA are also in the visiting team. They are getting exposed to the projects implemented in Georgia by the ADB. We talked about the prospects of our future cooperation. It is important that we have absolute support of the Bank towards the policies and directions that are discussed by the national authorities of Georgia. I need to note that ADB has already invested around 1 billion USD in our country and we are optimistic that it will further pursue its active cooperation with Georgia along with other international financial institutions” noted the Minister of Finance of Georgia.

“It is our first visit to Georgia. Asian Development Bank has a very fruitful cooperation with the Government of Georgia. We are optimistic that this partnership will further continue to achieve the sustainable development goals. We stand ready to provide both financial and technical support and assistance to the country” added Mr. Zhonjing Wang, Executive Director of the ADB.

Meeting held at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia (MOF) was also attended by Ms. Yesim Elhan-Kayalarv, Country Director of ADB.

Meetings of the ADB Delegation are planned with members of the Executive Authority of Georgia within the scope of the official visit to the country.
