H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia together with his colleagues from the Cabinet of Ministers of Georgia attended a meeting held with businessmen in Adjara on May 18, 2015. H.E. Irakli Gharibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia presented a new government program titled as Strong Region for Strong Georgia and spoke about the regional economic potential of Adjara.
Adjara has a huge potential and outstanding resources. Government does its best to support the implementation of long-lasting and interesting projects. With this rhetoric Prime Minister of Georgia addressed the entrepreneurs and business persons gathered today at newly opened Hilton Hotel in Batumi.
Head of Government of Georgia once again stressed the importance of launching a new five-star hotel of the global chain in Batumi. He noted that this project was put on hold and resumed after the shift in power, which enabled the resolution of pending problems.
Prime Minister briefed the entrepreneurs and business persons on the hotels launched in Adjara since 2012 and currently implemented projects:
• Divan Suits Batumi (five-star hotel) has been launched;
• Apart’hotel has been launched with a total investment of 5 MLN USD;
• Hilton Hotel has been launched (five-star chain) with a total investment of 137 MLN USD;
• Centro Med Hotel has been launched with a total investment of 2.5 MLN USD;
• Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in 2015 alone has reached 366.200 MLN USD;
• FDI in 2014 has been increased by 81% in contrast with 2012 and amounted 276.5 MLN USD; in comparison with 2013 it has been increased by 42% and amounted 195 MLN USD;
• Total investment volume of pending projects amounts 1.251BLN USD;
• Rekan Group Georgia Ltd will construct a hotel complex in the new boulevard of Batumi in the total investment value of 50 MLN USD;
• Orbi Group is constructing a hotel and apartment block by the House of Justice in Batumi in the total investment value of 30 MLN GEL;
• Yalcin Ltd is also constructing a hotel with 100 guest rooms by the House of Justice in Batumi in the total investment value of 9 MLN USD.
