H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia visited Georgian Cemetery and Estate in Leuville-sur-Orge within his official visit to France. He decorated the tombstones of H.E. Noe Jordania, Chairman of the Government of the First Republic of Georgia, H.E. Constantine Kandelaki, Minister of Finance and H.E. Giorgi Juruli, Minister of Trade and Industry with garlands of wreath.
Minister of Finance of Georgia, escorted by Mr. Lasha Khutsishvili, Deputy Minister and Mr. Gocha Javakhishvili, Envoy of Georgia to France met with Mme Natela Jordania, Chairman of the Association «Foyer Géorgien» and Mme Christine Pagava-Boulez, grand-daughter of late Noe Jordania.
Mme Natela Jordania updated the Minister of Finance of Georgia on the current condition of the Georgian estate and cemetery.
“Leuville-sur-Orge is Georgia in France to me. Within these walls we have been preserving the history of Georgia. As for its future, I wish this place to be kept as a bridge between the present and the past, which serves as a foundation to the current independence of Georgia. We wish the Estate to always exist for the future generations, so that memories are kept live about the First Republic of Georgia. Discussions on EU integration are held so often nowadays and I believe that this is the best place for approximation of Georgia with EU” noted Mme Natela Jordania.
In the opinion of H.E. Nodar Khaduri, Minister of Finance of Georgia, Leuville Estate has a tremendous importance for our country.
“Leuville is the place, where our escaped compatriots thought about Georgia’s independence day and night and our duty is to keep their merits and contributions live in our memories. We should do our best to materialize their thoughts about European Georgia” stated Minister of Finance of Georgia.
