The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission began its work in Georgia as part of the consultations conducted under Article IV of the IMF’s Articles of Agreement.
The mission, led by Alejandro Hajdenberg, held its first meeting with the Minister of Finance of Georgia.
The purpose of the mission is to review Georgia’s macroeconomic environment as well as its fiscal and monetary policies.
Lasha Khutsishvili briefed the IMF Mission on the current economic situation, the performance indicators of the 2025 state budget and the country’s medium-term projections.
From the Georgian side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze and Ekaterine Guntsadze, as well as the Head of the Department for Macroeconomic Analysis and Fiscal Policy Planning, Vakhtang Chalapeikrishvili.
